According to an e-mail I received this morning from Jodi Peterson, Management Analyst, Springfield Community Development and Housing, the Springfield Home Ownership Program (SHOP) is out of funds until July 1, 2010. The SHOP program provides down payment and closing cost assistance to low to moderate income borrowers for the purchase of their first home in Springfield Oregon. Springfield Home Ownership Program added a grant program to assist First Time Home Buyers in the purchase of foreclosed properties in the City of Springfield Oregon. The program will give First Time Home Buyers purchasing a foreclosed property an additional $4,000 grant for down payment and/or closing costs as long as they qualify for the Springfield Home Ownership Program (SHOP). The SHOP program provides up to $10,000 in interest and payment free money for the purchase of a home in the City of Springfield. Read More
