HUD Homes Excellent Way to Become Oregon Homeowner
As I stated yesterday, HUD Homes are available for the $100 down payment program. However, beside that, you can purchase a HUD Home with $100 down in conjunction with an FHA 203k Streamline purchase of your new home in the Eugene or Creswell Oregon area. Right now, the only HUD Homes listed in Lane County are in Eugene or Creswell. The list changes often however, and you probably should be checking often to see what is available. Read More
HUD Owned Homes for Only $100 Down Payment
There are listings of homes for sale by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), called HUD Homes on the HUD website. The great thing about these properties is that they are first offered to people in the Eugene/Springfield, Lane County Oregon area that are going to use them for their primary residence. That is right, only $100 down and if the seller (HUD) pays the closing costs, that means you can get into a home with only $100 out of pocket. Here is an example of one of the HUD Homes currently listed on the website: Read More

The Eugene/Springfield, Lane County Oregon area has some prime properties that this is an exceptional way to advance. Here is the question: Read More
FHA Loans Haven’t Changed Yet
There are some pretty important changes coming in FHA loans that I wrote about earlier, but so far we don’t have those changes in place making purchases harder or more expensive in the Eugene/Springfield, Lane County, Oregon area. Those HUD rules don’t go into effect for some time, so it is still a great time to purchase a new home in Springfield or Eugene using FHA. The UFMIP (up front mortgage insurance premium) hasn’t increased yet but will, so take advantage of the lower amount now. Read More
IDA Program Needs Assistance in Donations
One of the great programs that I have had the pleasure of working with is the IDA (Individual Development Account) program. This program can be used to accumulate a down payment to buy a home on a 1 to 3 ratio. For every dollar the participant saves, the IDA program contributes $3. Pretty good ratio, I think. However, today I found out from NEDCO (Neighborhood Economic Development Corporation of Lane and Marion Counties), one of the IDA program organizations, that they are out of money for the program.
