How long does it take from start to finish in the Eugene/Springfield Oregon area? This is an important question with the time running out on the First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit. The FTHB Tax Credit is available on purchases entered into by April 30 and closed by June 30.

First Time Tax Credit Deadline

If this deadline is anything like the last one, where everyone was scurrying to get their loans done before the Nov. 30 deadline, it could be a log jam. Because of all of the increased business leading up to the deadline, a lot of lenders were taking significantly longer than 60 days to close a loan. Although our closing time also got a bit longer, Alpine Mortgage Planning was geared up for the increased business and kept our closing times shorter.

Close Quicker and Easier

As an example of what Alpine is able to do, this week I closed an FHA purchase loan in Eugene that took only three weeks from start to finish. Even though we had five weeks to close in the Earnest Money Agreement, the sellers needed to leave town early and wanted to close early, so we did.
